POSITION SUMMARY:
Husky Health Center at the University of Washington has an outstanding opportunity for a Family Medicine or Primary Care Physician at the Physician II level. This position provides health care services to late adolescents and adults.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
This position serves University of Washington students by providing direct patient care in the Primary Care and Same Day clinical units. The Physician collaborates with other physicians, ARNPs, PA-Cs, and dedicated support staff, serves as an expert patient care consultant and holds a clinical faculty appointment
This is an 80-100% FTE, 11–12-month position
Salary range: $17,667 – $19,584 per month at a 100% FTE
ABOUT HUSKY HEALTH:
Husky Health Center, on the UW Seattle Campus in the Division of Student Life, is an AAAHC-accredited outpatient facility providing high quality primary and specialty health care services. Husky Health Center has 38,000 patient visits annually, two thirds by undergraduate and graduate students and one third by faculty, staff, and other community members. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide high quality, evidence-based patient care, including wellness care and diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic medical problems, in an ambulatory setting
Provide care for issues common among university students, such as mental health concerns and sexual and reproductive health issues
Provide patient education and guidance for wellness and care of illnesses and injuries
Exemplify high standards of professionalism
Competently care for a diverse patient population including those from underrepresented and marginalized backgrounds
Utilize the electronic medical record and maintain accurate medical records
Order diagnostic tests and interpret results
Prescribe medications and other treatments as necessary
Complete chart documentation and respond to patient inquiries in a timely manner
Communicate and work effectively on a team
Serve as a consultant to other clinical staff, including ARNPs and PA-Cs
Consult other providers and utilize resources as appropriate
Share in the responsibility of after-hours call coverage for urgent patient issues
Maintain Medical Staff appointment at the University of Washington Medical Center
Maintain clinical faculty appointment in the appropriate medical specialty department at the University of Washington School of Medicine, and perform duties as required by the department, including teaching of students or residents
Maintain licensure, certification, prescriptive authority, and clinical competence
Participate in educational, risk management, and quality improvement work
May design, conduct, and/or participate in research activities
May engage in health promotion, wellness initiatives, and/or outreach activities

Pay Rate Information
The salary information provided below is for a full-time position and will be prorated for part-time, as applicable.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
M.D. or D.O. degree
Current active licensure as a Physician in the State of Washington
Prescriptive authority for legend drugs in the State of Washington
Current U.S. Government Controlled Substance Registration (DEA) Certificate
Completion of a residency program in family medicine, internal medicine, or other relevant field
Board Eligibility or Certification in relevant specialty
Eligibility for appointment to the Medical Staff at the University of Washington Medical Center and to the clinical faculty the University of Washington School of Medicine
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Two or more years of post-residency clinical experience
Strong interest and experience in care of adolescent and young adult populations
Procedural skills for common office procedures
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Husky Health Center staff members are considered essential employees and are expected to report to work during UW closures for severe weather, natural disaster, or other emergency conditions.
Work hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Work location: Seattle Campus
Telecommute: This is a 100% onsite position
