West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Neurology in the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute seek a Movement Disorders Neurologist (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Canonsburg, PA.
Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of neurology and movement disorders. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed neurology residency program, as well as movement disorders fellowship program. Successful candidates must be board certified/eligible in neurology and movement disorders. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Candidates will join an active multidisciplinary team including neurologists, neurosurgeons, advanced practice providers, neuropathologists, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists for collaboration in the areas of patient care, research and education. The WVU Department of Neurology has an active multidisciplinary ALS clinic and the only MDA clinic in West Virginia. We offer a range of some of the most innovative approaches available including DBS, injections, medications, MR-guided focused ultrasound, rehabilitation and speech therapy. The Southpointe clinic in Canonsburg, PA, is within 30-50 minutes of three WVU Health System hospitals - Weirton Medical Center, Wheeling Hospital, and Reynolds Memorial Hospital - and an hour drive from the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Innovation Center in Morgantown, WV.
