Pilot Director

Description

This job description is not a stand-alone job description, but a rider to other leadership-level positions (i.e., Campus Director and Director of Academic Progress) and their associated duties and responsibilities within NBHS. In addition to facilitating key cross-functional tasks, the Pilot Director provides full oversight and guidance within a targeted NBHS campus by implementing and monitoring the effectiveness of new innovative programming prior to system-wide roll-out.

Key Responsibilities

•  Assist in the planning and piloting of NBHS innovative programming. 
•  Manage and document all processes associated with NBHS pilot-program initiatives. 
•  Evaluate and report on the overall effectiveness of piloted programming for designated locations. 
•  Manage and conduct bus driver inspections. 
•  Collaborate with program subject matter experts to ensure alignment with the Mission and Vision of NBHS. 
•  Provide excellent customer service. 
•  Provide feedback and evaluate performance of direct reports. 
•  Oversee and possess a thorough understanding of the role and responsibilities of the Director of Campus and Community Engagement. 
•  Support school Mission by assisting with home visits. 
•  Conduct annual review and propose appropriate updates to the Pilot Director Reference & Procedures Manual.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university 
•  Master’s degree in Education or Business/Management (preferred) 
•  Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate (preferred) 
•  State of Florida Bus Driver Supervisor Certification (preferred) 
•  A minimum of 3 years prior experience working with youth in an educational non-profit capacity 
•  A minimum of 3 years of prior management/supervisory experience 
•  Background check and fingerprinting clearance 
•  Knowledge of applicable computer software and hardware process applications such as spreadsheets, word-processing, database and operating systems, and/or presentation software
•  Valid Florida driver's license, reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance

Capable of developing and monitoring a curriculum program for at-risk students at the high school level and adjusting that program as needed. Physical Environment

 Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work task priorities, setting goals and meeting deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with students, internal and external contacts and with the public. Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects frequently weighing up to 20 pounds and infrequently weighing more than 20 pounds. This position requires travel.
