Pipe Foreman

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on, safety-first Pipe Foreman to lead one of our two experienced pipe crews. In this role, you'll be responsible for overseeing deep utility installations—including sanitary sewer systems with trench depths reaching 20–30 feet—on local projects ranging from $1M to $20M. You’ll be the go-to leader in the field, guiding daily operations, mentoring your team, and collaborating with leadership to ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a 6-person pipe crew on underground utility construction sites


• Ensure crew safety and enforce proper use of trench boxes, shoring systems, and excavation safety protocols


• Plan and coordinate daily field tasks to meet production targets and project timelines


• Operate equipment as needed (e.g., wheel loaders) to support field activities


• Serve as a mentor and field trainer, building skills within the crew


• Make real-time field decisions and adapt to challenging conditions such as groundwater


• Use Trimble GPS rovers for layout, staking, and as-built documentation


• Report daily crew hours and work progress to supervisors

Required Qualifications

• 5–10 years of underground utility construction experience, including deep trenching


• Proven experience leading field crews on complex job sites


• Proficiency with trench safety, shoring systems, and installations at 20–30 ft depths


• Experience with sanitary sewer systems and other high-level utility installations


• Working knowledge of Trimble GPS rovers (layout/staking/as-builting)


• Strong decision-making ability with a safety-first mindset


• Stable work history

Project Details

• Project durations range from 3 months to 1+ year


• Locations are mostly in Northern Ohio with occasional jobs in Southern Michigan


• Projects range from $1M–$20M


• Work is fully onsite—you'll enjoy working out of our top-notch facility in Norwalk, OH
