Job Description: The Pipe Foreman oversees and directs the daily operations of pipe installation projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications. They coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and crew members to install water, sewer, and drainage systems in compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a crew in the installation of underground pipes, including water, sewer, and storm drainage systems.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
Ensure all work meets project specifications, safety standards, and local codes.
Plan and organize daily tasks, including equipment, materials, and personnel scheduling.
Inspect work progress and quality to ensure compliance with project plans and deadlines.
Coordinate with subcontractors, project managers, and inspectors to maintain efficient workflow.
Conduct safety meetings and enforce job site safety regulations and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to pipe installation, including alignment, depth, and material handling.
Train and mentor crew members to enhance productivity and skill development.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily reports, timecards, and material usage.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Pipe Foreman or similar leadership role in underground utility construction.
Extensive knowledge of pipe installation techniques, including trenching, grading, and backfilling.
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and blueprints.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in operating heavy equipment, such as excavators, loaders, and trenchers, is a plus.
Understanding of OSHA and industry safety regulations.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
Valid driver’s license and any required industry certifications.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical training or certifications in pipe installation, construction management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in underground utility or pipeline construction.
