As a skilled Pipelayer for RH Price, you’ll report daily to the Site Supervisor. A typical workweek is
Monday through Friday, averaging 40 – 45 hours in the winter and 45 – 50 hours the rest of the year.
Weekend work may be required occasionally but is not the norm. The Pipelayer is responsible for
loading and unloading tools, potholing and cleaning off existing utilities, rigging chains and straps,
setting up a pipe laser, grading the trench bottom, proper installation of the pipe, and performing other
tasks relating to underground water and wastewater pipe installation. In addition to pipelaying
responsibilities, the pipelayer will assist with general labor and site cleanup duties. You’ll also get to

ResponsibilitiesThe following represents a sample of various job responsibilities performed at the Pipelayer position.
Safely using a ladder to enter and exit the trench, always maintaining 3 points of contact
Work safely per OSHA standards.
Carefully expose existing utilities and work with other employees to protect them from damage.
Perform daily cleaning, maintenance, and safety checks of tools. Notify if repairs are needed.
Check pipes, valves, fittings, and fire hydrants for defects, clean pipe bells thoroughly
Using chop saws to cut pipes to the required lengths
Using compaction equipment for backfilling
Performing cement/grout work in manholes
Saw cutting asphalt and concrete
Working on or along public roadways, maintaining proper awareness.
Ensure proper rigging of pipe, shoring equipment, precast structures, etc.
Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area.
Respond to signals and directions by other employees and coordinate with them.
Report any safety violation, incident, or injury to the Site Supervisor.
When not laying pipe, must perform additional duties including labor to support production
with the team.

High school diploma/GED
Minimum 3 years’ experience installing water and sewer pipe
Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures
Must have physical strength and endurance
Ability to lift heavy materials
Comfortable working in a high stress environment
High level of self-motivation and strong work ethic
Must be flexible, dependable, and effectively communicate with a team
Compensation (Varies depending on experience and skillset)Hourly wages $21 - $24, annually $57,000 - $65,000
Benefits include competitive wages, 5% fringe pay, annual bonus, holiday pay, 5 vacation days after 1
year employment, and uniforms after 90 days employment.
