PK-5 MATH SPECIALIST

Our school is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to fill the role of PK-5 Math Specialist with experience in providing support for ESL (English as a Second Language) students. This position is crucial in ensuring that all students, regardless of their language background, receive quality math education and support to excel academically.

Responsibilities:

1. Math Curriculum Development: Develop and adapt PK-5 math curriculum materials to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with varying levels of English proficiency.
2. ESL Student Support: Provide targeted support and interventions for ESL students to improve their math skills and language acquisition simultaneously.
3. Instructional Support: Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and deliver effective math instruction that integrates language development strategies suitable for ESL learners.
4. Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Assess ESL students' math skills regularly and use data to inform instructional decisions and interventions. Monitor progress and adjust support as needed.
5. Professional Development: Provide professional development opportunities for teachers on best practices for teaching math to ESL students, including strategies for differentiation and language support.
6. Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians of ESL students to provide updates on their child's progress in math and offer strategies for supporting learning at home. Collaborate with community resources to enhance support for ESL students' math education.
7. Stay Updated: Stay current with research and best practices in both math education and ESL instruction to continuously improve support for ESL students in math.
