The New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) is the nation’s oldest and largest public housing authority with more than 168,000 apartments and over 370,000 residents. NYCHA’s mission is to provide quality housing for New Yorkers that is sustainable, inclusive, and safe, while fostering opportunities for economic mobility. NYCHA also administers a citywide Section 8 leased housing program that serves over 200,000 tenants. Since the 2019 Agreement between NYCHA, the Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD), and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (SDNY), NYCHA has been working under a Federal Monitor structure. The HUD Agreement sets the requirement to create a new Organizational Plan in collaboration with the Federal Monitor and sets forth various compliance related targets for NYCHA across major operational areas including Lead, Mold, Heat, Elevators, Pest, Waste Management, and Inspections.
Under direction and in collaboration with the Skilled Trade Strategic Advisor, the Planner will participate in the day-to-day management of skilled trade work assigned to Property Management Operations; assist in addressing specific repairs; assist in ad hoc day-to-day tasks.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Work closely with the Skilled Trade Strategic Advisor to oversee select skilled trades work orders.
- Review skilled trade work orders to ensure they have been accurately created and that repairs are scheduled in the proper sequence to maintain efficient workflow.
- Liaise with Skilled Trade Administration to troubleshoot and correct gaps in planning and productivity performance.
- Complete ad-hoc reporting at the request of the Skilled Trade Strategic Advisor.
- Track and follow up on EVP priority projects and initiatives regarding skilled trades, to completion, particularly across multiple departments.
- Assist with drafting information about skilled trades related work amongst Property Management Operations.
- Assist with identifying challenges and developing solutions impacting skilled trades and planners.
- Participate and plan stat meetings with skilled trades and planners to review metrics, trends, production issues, material issues, staffing issues and miscellaneous issues.
- As needed visit and work from NYCHA developments and Borough offices to address and resolve various skilled trades/planning issues affecting Property Management Operations.
- Disseminate information regarding skilled trades and any additional projects being worked on by the EVP’s office.
- Manage other staff within the Office of the EVP.

1. INTERAGENCY TRANSFERS INTO NYCHA OF THOSE PERMANENT IN TITLE ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE FACE OF AN ACTIVE AND VIABLE NYCHA PROMOTION LIST OR
PREFERRED IS FOR THE SAME TITLE.
2. Due to the existence of a civil service list, candidates must have permanent civil service status in the title of Administrative Housing Superintendent to be considered.
3. NYCHA employees applying for transfer, promotional, title or level change opportunities must have served a period of one year at current location and in current title and level (if applicable).

1. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent, plus eight years of supervisory experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of large tenanted buildings; four years of which
