Job Description - Planning Engineer

We are seeking a highly organized and analytical Planning Engineer to support project planning, scheduling, and progress control activities across complex engineering and construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, monitoring, and maintaining detailed project schedules, ensuring effective coordination between engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

This position is strictly limited to candidates who currently reside in the United States and are legally authorized to work in the U.S. Applications from individuals residing outside the United States will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using approved planning and scheduling tools

Establish work breakdown structures (WBS), activity sequencing, and resource loading

Monitor project progress and analyze schedule variances, risks, and critical paths

Prepare schedule forecasts, progress reports, and performance metrics for management review

Coordinate planning activities with engineering, procurement, and construction teams

Support change management, claims analysis, and schedule impact assessments

Ensure planning practices comply with company standards and contractual requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline

Minimum of 4–7 years of experience in planning, scheduling, or project controls

Proficiency with planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, Microsoft Project)

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Knowledge of engineering, construction, or industrial project lifecycles

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with large-scale infrastructure, energy, or industrial projects

Professional certifications (PMP, PSP, or equivalent)

Familiarity with cost control and earned value management (EVM)

Compensation:

Annual Salary Range: $95,000 – $130,000 USD, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and location
