Plant Controller

A global leader in manufacturing and technology is seeking a Controller to oversee the accounting operations at its primary North American plant. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for managing a team of 10 (5 direct, 5 indirect reports) and ensuring all financial operations align with organizational goals and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the accounting department
  

• Develop financial strategies, goals, and policies to support business decisions
  

• Ensure compliance with GAAP and all applicable regulatory requirements
  

• Manage financial reporting, consolidations, budgeting, and forecasting
  

• Oversee external audits and tax reporting
  

• Maintain accurate fiscal records and oversee cash management activities
  

• Collaborate with executive leadership to provide insights for strategic planning
  

• Supervise credit, collections, and subsidiary accounting functions
  

• Maintain relationships with external financial institutions and auditors
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required)
  

• CPA designation (required; strong candidates without CPA may be considered)
  

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting
  

• 5+ years in a financial management role with supervisory responsibilities
  

• Experience with companies generating over $150 million in annual revenue
  

• Strong understanding of financial systems and controls
  

• Experience in the chemical industry is a plus
  

• Public accounting or Big 4 background is beneficial but not required
  

• Must be in current position for a minimum of 6 months
