Design, develop, and test circuits and systems used in the control of testing equipment; Create electrical and controls engineering drawings and documents; Specify electrical controls equipment and panel components; Specify heating elements and circuits for industrial furnaces and ovens; Review proposed changes to existing designs for compliance with engineering standards, accepted practices and safety standards; Review specifications to support proposal efforts; Work with suppliers to specify and procure engineered components; Working knowledge of IEEE, UL, NEC, CSA, and EU/CE standards as they apply to our applications. Engineering training and experience is critical for this position.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Electrical engineering, machine/industrial automation, product, and prototype testing
Ø Create, maintain, and execute multiple projects and associated engineering documentation.
Ø Design, Operate, and Test systems and applications using low to medium voltage (480 VAC, 3-phase, and below), DC Circuits, and various analog distribution systems.
Ø Size and specify electrical and control components including transformers, circuit breakers, motor starters, conductors, etc.
Ø Develop, read, and check electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control descriptions, I/O lists, Bills of Materials, and PLC/HMI code for control of various electro-mechanical systems.
Ø Ensure compliance with industry, engineering, and customer standards and specifications.
Ø Working knowledge and application of electric codes and standards
Ø Familiar with design and programming of PLC, HMI, and Ethernet interfacing; Develop control logic diagrams.
Ø Work experience with PLC’s, HMI’s, Temperature controllers and control panel design is required.
Ø Exceptional analytical and applied problem-solving skills, troubleshooting, problem identification, and resolution of programs and systems.
Ø Support Field Service Technicians on equipment installation, startup, troubleshooting, and continuing maintenance.
Ø Support Production efforts: resolve on-floor design and assembly issues as needed.
Ø Sales communication and customer support as required.
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS
v Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2-5 years of applicable experience
v Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and 5-10 years of applicable experience preferred*
v Autodesk products: AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor Pro
v Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Suite
v Capacity to learn other software as necessary.
