Job Description - Plant HR Manager - Collaborative Environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following responsibilities are general duties that a particular employee in this position may or may not be required to perform. Employment:

  • Administer recruitment activities for all full-time employees (e.g. screening, phone interviews, scheduling interviews, checking references, making offer or denial contacts)
  • Monitor and follow up on temporary employee conversions after 90 days
  • Conduct new hire/onboarding and benefit orientations
  • Create HR policies and procedures

Benefit administration:

  • Facilitate open and new benefit enrollment
  • Generate COBRA notices/packets

Leave of Absence Administration

  • Engage in the interactive process
  • Process all medical benefit invoices
  • Update tracking workbook

Administration of other human resource matters

  • Monitor employee disciplinary actions
  • Coach supervisors on handling employee disciplinary matters
  • Assist with the management and investigation of work injuries, work status and closure of claims
  • Create and revise HR documents or forms
  • Maintain and update all files (Personnel, Confidential, 1-9, EEO, LOA, Workers' Comp, etc.)
  • Conduct investigations for reported problems/grievances
  • Process all job separations
  • Plan all employee appreciation functions

Other duties within the department as may be assigned

  • Has knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Identifies the need for plans, procedures, goals, strategies or processes to address employee matters
  • Coaches and develops skills of company supervisors and managers to effectively manage employees

Education/Experience: Bachelor's Degree plus 5-7 years of human resources experience covering a wide range of HR functions
