Job Summary:

Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the functionality, safety, and appearance of a facility by performing a variety of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks. This role ensures that building systems, equipment, and infrastructure are operating efficiently. Key responsibilities include conducting preventive maintenance, addressing repairs, and responding to facility emergencies in a timely and effective manner.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of facility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment, to identify and prevent potential issues.
• Follow scheduled maintenance routines to optimize equipment performance, reduce unexpected breakdowns, and extend the life of facility systems
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions in equipment and perform necessary repairs.
• Replace or adjust defective components using tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical expertise to minimize operational disruptions.
• Conduct routine safety inspections to identify hazards and implement measures to mitigate risks within the facility.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities within a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) or manual logs.
• Track inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, notifying management when supplies need to be ordered.
• Assist with the installation, setup, and testing of new machinery or equipment as part of facility upgrades or improvement projects.
• Collaborate with other teams to provide technical input on equipment layout, efficiency improvements, and best practices for maintenance.
• Perform general maintenance tasks to maintain facility cleanliness and organization, including repairs to walls, flooring, lighting, and plumbing fixtures.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in the field, 2+ years
• Hands-on experience with the types of systems in the facility, such as HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, or plumbing, is highly beneficial.
• Ability to diagnose and solve issues with facility equipment and infrastructure efficiently.
• Diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities for mechanical and electrical systems
• Ability to lift and move equipment (often up to 50 lbs.), work in various environmental conditions, and perform tasks that may require bending, standing, and reaching.
• Ensuring thorough and accurate maintenance work to prevent recurring issues.
• Pneumatic/Hydraulic
• Basic computer skills for maintenance software and documentation
• Ability to communicate maintenance needs and progress with team members
