Job Description - Plant Manager

Milwaukee Electronics is hiring a Plant Manager for our Canby, Oregon facility!


The Plant Manager is responsible for all operational aspects of our Canby manufacturing facility. This role requires a strategic leader with strong operational, technical, and people management skills. The Plant Manager will ensure the efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production of our products, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and collaboration. The focus of this job is on achieving results which are aligned with the larger picture of the organization and its strategic goals. Initiative, coupled with a sense of competitive drive, and the ability to stay focused on results despite changing conditions, is the key to achieving the performance objectives of this job.


 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Canby plant, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Drive operational excellence through the use of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions as needed to achieve operational targets.

  • Ensure adequate people and equipment capacity to support forecasted build requirements and new product development programs.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of production, materials, quality, maintenance, and engineering professionals, fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

  • Create a strong team environment that fosters the company culture and strives for continual improvement.

  • Maintain and enhance the plant’s quality management system, ensuring compliance with industry standards, including ISO 9001, ISO13485, AS9100, and CMMC requirements.

  • Promote a culture of safety, ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations, and implementing safety programs and practices to minimize workplace hazards and incidents.

  • Develop and manage the plant’s budget, controlling costs and optimizing resource utilization, while identifying and implementing cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety.

  • Work closely with the customer service and sales teams to meet customer requirements and expectations, ensuring the plant’s operations align with customer demands.

  • Decision-making focused on implementing practical, timely solutions, with a leadership style that is firm and goal-oriented, yet motivates, trains, and engages others enthusiastically.


QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a strategic leadership role.

  • Strong ERP and MES systems experience.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Proven track record of driving operational improvements and achieving production goals.

  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.


CERTIFICATIONS



  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred.

  • PMP or other relevant project management certification is a plus.

This position operates in a factory environment, with much background noise.  Environmental controls are in place, but fluctuations in temperature and humidity are to be expected.
