Job Title: Plant Manager
About Client: Our client is an award-winning fastener manufacturer specializing in diameters from M3 to M24. Our client controls the complete manufacturing process from the annealing of the raw coiled steel through heading, rolling, heat treating, plating, coating, packaging, and distributing. About the role: The plant Manager is responsible for the complete performance of the plant's operations, assuring the achievement of revenue, productivity, cost, quality, safety, environmental, and customer satisfaction roles.
Responsibilities:
Achievement of P&L objectives and goals
Monitor all operations and processes for best practices, quality, and productivity
Maintain a safe work environment and follow all safety regulations
Ensure all regulatory compliance needs are met
Oversee daily operations; identify and remove roadblocks to success
Analyze production metrics and data to determine areas to improve
Ensure quality and management systems are followed and maintained
Oversee the quoting process
Establish manning needs and ensure staffing levels are sufficient
Hire, train, retain, and assess the skills and performance of the workforce;
coach and counsel poor performers;
Develop and promote high-potential
Develop maintenance goals and objectives;
ensure repairs are being completed to reduce downtime;
develop and drive preventive and predictive
maintenance goals and objectives
Establish excellent working relationships with all departments and Support Personnel
Work together with our companies to support overall strategic manufacturing goals

Additional skills and/or experience required for success in the role:
5 years of leadership experience in a similar steel manufacturing
8 years of experience in an operations management role in manufacturing
Extensive knowledge of metallurgy or materials science
In-depth knowledge of cold-heading manufacturing and its equipment
Knowledge and experience with automotive OEMs and Tier II customers
Demonstrated customer service skills with customers and suppliers; was able to influence others
Excellent managerial and leadership skills; able to mentor and develop others
Excellent communication skills, including oral and written, and strong listening skills
Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook
In-depth understanding of inventory management, workflow, and lot tracing and tracking
Ability to relate to all types of people, exhibit trust and integrity and embrace our Culture
Business acumen; understands strategic planning, purchasing, finance
General knowledge of human resources management including employment laws
Bachelor's degree in operations or a related field is preferred.
