As a Plant Manager, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing overall plant operations including finance, manufacturing, engineering, materials, maintenance, safety, and quality while making recommendations to improve productivity, quality, and efficiency of all operations.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the safety of all employees, and for ensuring compliance of all aspects of EHS, and State and Federal regulations.
Responsible for all areas of operation, continuous improvement, and EHS programs.
Manage facility operations budgets, expenses, and systems to meet or exceed the AOP targets.
Lead in continual improvement process of safety/environmental, quality, manufacturing, equipment upgrades, and plant administrative functions and personnel policies.
Ensure production is met within budget and action plans developed and implemented to improve operational efficiencies and continuous improvement
Responsible for identifying and analyzing KPIs to help improve results.
Facilitate and lead the development of procedures and systems specific to meeting customer needs and satisfaction, timeliness and delivery of goods and services.
Oversee hourly employee relations including hiring, training and scheduling.
Facilitate and lead safety training, investigations, and positive preventative behavior.
Accountable for the performance and results of the plant by adopting and executing business unit's plan, including business, production, operational, and strategic priorities
Provide both direct and indirect training for staff – leadership training, function training and career training.
Report to General Manager all challenges and plan to resolve project discrepancies.
Develop and build teams by encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members; identify potential in personnel, and sponsor, mentor and ensure development.
Education, Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field or equivalent work experience required.
6 years of experience in leadership roles with minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing or related environment; direct operational supervisory experience is required.
2 years pipe and/or coating industry experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
Experience in applying LEAN Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and 5S principles.
Ability to coach and mentor employees on a one-on-one basis as well as group.
Strong decision making, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels of the Corporation.
Computer literate and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams); SAP experience, a plus
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and production methods.
Thorough knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods.
