Position Summary:
The Plasma Table Helper supports the CNC plasma table operations within the structural fabrication facility. You'll assist skilled operators in handling, preparing, and post-processing large steel plates, ensuring accurate cuts and material flow for cooler frame and header fabrication. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role in a heavy industrial setting.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assist CNC plasma table operators in loading, clamping, and unloading steel plates and blanks.
• Support material staging and layout, ensuring correct plate placement by size and job order.
• Help remove cut parts and off-cut slugs, preparing materials for welding, fabrication, and sanding/bead blasting.
• Maintain work area, disposing of scrap and debris safely to support visual management and 5S practices.
• Assist with routine equipment checks, including plasma torch alignment, coolant levels, and table surface condition.
• Operate lifting aids or overhead cranes under supervision for moving heavy steel plates.
• Support safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out, PPE usage, and proper handling of high-voltage and compressed-air systems.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1-2 years of manufacturing/warehouse experience.
• Ability to lift and move heavy plates and assist with loading/unloading.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort with tools/equipment.
• Team oriented, with reliability and focus on safety.
• Willingness to work with compressed air cleaning hydraulic tools and assist in inspections.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50lbs+ as needed.
• Stand, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl for extended periods of time as needed.
• Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
