Plate Area Team Lead

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Responsible for quality and quantity of sub-assemblies


2. Continuous improvement in support of department and company goals


3. Supports, participates, and encourages team building.


4. Provides feedback, both positive and negative, to the team, other related departments, and the supervisor.


5. Promotes a positive work environment.


6. Follow all of Porter Corp’s procedures and policies.


7. Work safely and efficiently.


8. Stay customer focused.


9. Work with purchasing and receiving to ensure that correct material is ordered and received in a timely manner to ensure goals are met.


10. Able to lift, up to, 50 pounds, bend, stand for long periods of time, stooping etc.


11. Supports team as much as needed.


12. Manage material and Inventory.


13. Review resumes, assist in interview and hiring process also advise disciplinary actions up to and including terminations.


14. Coordinates and runs Cycle Counts in the plate area.


15. Perform inventory adjustments as needed.


16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience

1. This position requires a knowledge of basic material handling methods to ensure a quality product is delivered to all customers.


2. Knowledge of skilled machining techniques and basic welding experience.


3. Work requires a high school diploma or equivalent.

Travel

This position requires minimal to no travel.

Computer Skills

• Basic computer skills


• Demonstrated proficiency using EPICOR ERP or similar systems.

Other Requirements

1. Able to read blueprints.


2. Very good interpersonal skills


3. Must be open-minded to new ideas and concepts.


4. Possesses very good problem-solving skills.


5. Must be self-motivated and results oriented.

Other Skills

1. Safe and efficient material handling to minimize damage.


2. Accuracy and completeness of deliverable materials to customer
