This position mounts
printing plates, prepares sleeves and plate cylinders, proofs completed work,
and stages anilox rollers and cylinders so press teams have the correct
equipment when they need it. The Plate Mounter also maintains
plate-room equipment, materials, and storage systems. This role is ideal for a
careful, organized team member who is comfortable working with specialized
equipment and understands how accurate preparation supports print quality and
production efficiency.
· Mount printing plates accurately on plate
cylinders and sleeves.
· Set up, operate, and perform general
maintenance on the DuPont plate mounter.
· Sleeve and de-sleeve plate cylinders
according to press and mounting schedules.
· Apply stickyback mounting tape to sleeves
and plate cylinders.
· Proof mounted plate cylinders, inspect
completed proofs, and approve work before release.
· Clean, wrap, store, and protect printing
plates after use.
· Maintain organized storage and accurate
locations for plates, plate cylinders, gears, anilox rollers, and sleeves.
· Maintain inventory and storage of
stickyback and proofing supplies.
· Clean, set up, and stage anilox rollers
and cylinders for upcoming jobs.
· Maintain cylinders, carts, splash guards,
and associated parts in good working condition.
· Keep equipment and the plate-mounting
area clean, orderly, and production ready.
· Operate the electric hoist and use hand
tools safely.
· Follow all plant safety rules and report
safety concerns, accidents, and emergency maintenance needs to the appropriate
coordinator or technical developer.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
· Ability to safely operate an electric
hoist and DuPont plate mounter.
· Ability to use assorted hand tools.
· Basic computer skills.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment
to print quality.
· Ability to organize and maintain
specialized production materials and supplies.
· Dependable approach to safety, equipment
care, and production schedules.
· Ability to work effectively with press
teams and other production partners.
· Repetitive walking, bending, and stooping
throughout the shift.
· Ability to push and pull cylinder carts.
· Ability to climb periodically.
· Ability to lift and move materials
weighing more than 50 pounds.
