We are currently seeking a motivated Platform Engineer/Technician to join the Mission Systems Engineering team at Hermeus!
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair Ground Control Stations.
- Install, configure, and maintain flight critical IT systems, communication tools, and mission-enhancing hardware/software.
- Install, configure, and maintain pilot-in-the-loop cockpits for Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPAs).
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of mission systems.
Basic Qualifications
- Engineer: Bachelor’s Degree and 3+ years in aircraft avionics, RF integration, or ground station maintenance.
- Technician: 5+ years in aircraft avionics, RF integration, or ground station maintenance.
- Proficient with common avionics/RF tools such as multimeters, insulation resistance meters, spectrum analyzers, cannon-plug tools, oscilloscopes, etc.
- Proficient in basic electronics maintenance and repair.
- Proficient in the soldering of RF coaxial connectors.
- Working knowledge of IT infrastructure components such as Ethernet, switches, routers, and servers.
- Familiarity with command-and-control concepts, strong problem-solving and diagnostics ability, and a team-first mentality.
- Comfortable reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and working with electronics.
- Proficient in building aerospace-grade cable/harness assemblies (D38999 and similar)
- Ability and desire to travel for several weeks at a time to work on-location with the Ground Control Station at various military bases and airports.
- Able to lift heavy gear and thrive in hands-on environments.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment such as a forklift or scissor lift for installing/maintaining/troubleshooting RF hardware.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and associated Office suite of tools: Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years' experience integrating, troubleshooting, and maintaining complex aerospace RF/SATCOM/IT systems.
- Proficiency in Linux.
- Proficient in basic computer networking.
- Prior experience maintaining operational RPA GCS’s.
- Certifications such as CCNA and Security+.
