Job Description - Platform Program Manager Business Support

Job Description

Brightspeed has an exciting opportunity for a Platform Program Manager, Business Support specializing in business requirement gathering, management and traceability to join our rapidly growing team! As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for managing projects and leading the utilization of JIRA within the business domain. You will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business needs, workflows, and effective project execution using the JIRA platform. Your primary responsibilities would include ensuring business requirements are completed on time, reviewed with our IT partners, groomed, PI slotted, developed, tested, accepted, and deployed. You will work closely with IT and Business Operations teams to ensure alignment of processes and visions. In this role, you will report to the Sr. Manager Digital Transformation – Governance.

As the Platform Program Manager, Business Support, your duties and responsibilities will include:

Develop a scalable and robust cross-domain E2E transformation workflow management process including design, implementation, execution, monitoring and quality assurance for Mass Markets, Enterprise & Wholesale

Drive long-term modernization and technical advancement planning for digital transformation programs

Support the Product & Platform Innovation team by managing assigned targeted efforts to completion

Assist in domain JIRA management including Product Owner partnership, user story oversight and management, PI planning prioritization and completion tracking

Lead the business configuration and customization of JIRA to support processes and program requirements

Collaborate with JIRA administrators and developers to implement customizations and integrations as needed

Engage with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into JIRA configurations

Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams using JIRA dashboards, boards and reports

Conduct regular meetings and status updates to keep stakeholders informed of program progress and risks

Support comprehensive business readiness testing spanning from Buy Flow to Billing, documenting daily outcomes including pass, fail, exceptions, defect handling, and retesting ensuring a seamless flow in both User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production environments, meeting program deadlines

Chair or Co-Chair the daily business readiness testing sessions, facilitating active participation from all essential stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs)

Define and effectively communicate any significant risks and dependencies to the leadership team, ensuring clarity and transparency

Support application BVT and ORT release scheduling and system integration

Define and develop a comprehensive reporting strategy for JIRA to meet the needs of various stakeholders

Collaborate with business leads and program managers to understand reporting requirements and KPIs

Design and develop custom reports and dashboards within JIRA and Power BI to visualize project metrics, progress and trends

Analyze project data stored in JIRA to identify patterns, trends and areas of improvement

Create documentation and training materials to promote best practices and ensure user adaptation of JIRA

Address business user queries, troubleshoot issues and provide guidance on JIRA usage

Ensure compliance with organizational standards, policies and procedures in JIRA configurations and project management principles

Conduct quality assurance reviews to validate the integrity and accuracy of the data in JIRA

Help develop a scalable and robust cross-domain system stack that caters customers’ needs and business outcomes

Demonstrated exceptional presentation, interpersonal, relationship development, analytical, problem-solving and communication skills with the ability to present at the senior most level in the business

Qualifications:
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business, or related field

5+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross team projects

4+ years of strong technical experience, preferably in telecommunications or software development working with copper and fiber networks

Successful teamwork experience and demonstrated leadership abilities

Must be able to read, understand and apply technical standards

Ability to translate technical terms into plain language

Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills

Experience creating C Suite level presentation materials

Quick learner with excellent written & verbal communication and analytical problem-solving skills

Solid organizational skills with attention to detail, context switching, and ability to cope with tight deadlines

JIRA Knowledge

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Proficient in project planning and life cycle development tools

BONUS POINTS FOR:

Deep familiarity with fiber technology

Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PM or Project Management Degree

Basic knowledge of SmartSheets
