Hiring Range: $25.12 - $30.15 hourly, based on qualifications and experience.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinician I (Entry-Level Clinician) provides resource coordination, skills building, and case management services for clients in Pathways of Life Recovery Services’ (PLRS) Intensive Outpatient (IOP) and Outpatient (OP) programs under the supervision of a Licensed Behavioral Health Provider, Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), or qualified licensure candidate in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements. This entry level clinical role supports delivery of care through coordination of services, client engagement, and development of practical skills, and is designed for bachelor’s level providers, individuals seeking professional internship hours, and Certified Addiction Technicians. The Clinician I (Entry-Level Clinician) assists in implementing treatment plans, monitoring client progress, and facilitating access to resources to support stability and recovery. Services are provided to individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions in alignment with program standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Clinical Support & Services

• Maintain an active caseload and consistent engagement with PLRS clients in collaboration with and under the supervision of a qualified clinical provider.
• Provide orientation, psychoeducation, skills building, case management, referral coordination, and resource navigation services to support client progress throughout the treatment process.
• Facilitate educational, life-skills, recovery-focused, and resource-coordination groups utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Provide one-on-one support services, including skills development, case management, referral support, care coordination, and connection to community resources in alignment with individualized treatment plans.
• Assist clients in accessing housing, benefits, employment resources, medical and behavioral health services, transportation, and other supports that promote long-term stability and recovery.
• Support referrals to higher levels of care including detoxification, inpatient treatment, residential treatment, recovery residences, sober living, and other recovery support services as clinically appropriate.
• Assist in the development and implementation of treatment plan goals related to recovery support, case management, resource coordination, and skill building in collaboration with the clinical team.
• Coordinate client care and support continuity of services through discharge planning, referral follow through, and communication with internal and external providers.
• Monitor client progress and barriers to care on an ongoing basis and communicate observations and concerns to the clinical team to support appropriate interventions and positive treatment outcomes.
• Provide crisis support and de-escalation assistance in accordance with program protocols and under appropriate supervision, ensuring timely communication with licensed or credentialed staff.
• Build and maintain professional, therapeutic relationships with clients while supporting a safe, respectful, and recovery-oriented treatment environment.
• Proactively address client concerns and assist clients in accessing appropriate support, including information regarding complaint and grievance procedures when necessary.

Documentation & Compliance

• Document services provided and client progress in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner.
• Adhere to documentation and conduct standards in accordance with EHR requirements, DORA, HIPAA, Medicaid, and applicable payer guidelines.
• Participate in supervision as required by DORA and PLRS policy, incorporating feedback to support professional development and compliance.
• Report critical incidents and make reports of suspected child abuse in accordance with PLRS policies, involving the Clinical Director as required. 

Collaboration & Professional Conduct

• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to support coordinated and effective client care.
• Actively participate in team meetings and maintain effective working relationships with staff and peers.
• Maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards in all client interactions.
• Pursue ongoing professional development, including continuing education and relevant certification or credentialing pathways.
• Provide support to other PLRS locations as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in counseling or a related field as determined by DORA.
• Experience in a related field may be substituted for education.
• Relevant experience in behavioral health, case management, or a related field preferred, including internship or practicum experience.
• Training, experience, or credentialing in substance use disorder treatment preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse and high need populations.
• If not actively pursuing full clinical licensure (e.g., LPC, LAC, LCSW, or LMFT), must commit to and be willing and able to obtain Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS) credential within two years of hire.
• Able to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
• Current Colorado driver’s license and ability to meet DRM driving insurance standards as some travel may be required.
• Satisfy background check requirements in accordance with PLRS policy.
• Must be a Christian holding to the beliefs set forth in the Statement of Faith and Apostles Creed, expressed by a personal testimony and Christian conduct.
