POSITION OVERVIEW

The Plumbing & HVAC General Manager will oversee daily operations, manage department leaders, and ensure projects and service calls are executed with efficiency, quality, and profitability. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of the Plumbing and HVAC trades, along with the ability to manage both people and processes for sustained growth.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Leadership

• Oversee daily operations for Plumbing and HVAC departments, including service, maintenance, and installation projects.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Monitor KPIs, budgets, and productivity to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
• Forecast staffing needs and ensure proper scheduling to meet customer demand.

Team Management

• Lead, mentor, and coach department managers, technicians, and office staff.
• Recruit, hire, and retain top talent while fostering a positive, safety-focused work culture.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training opportunities.

Customer Service & Quality Control

• Ensure all jobs meet company quality standards and customer satisfaction goals.
• Resolve escalated customer issues quickly and professionally.
• Maintain relationships with key clients and vendors.

Business Development & Strategy

• Collaborate with ownership to develop growth strategies and business plans.
• Identify new opportunities for revenue, services, and market expansion.
• Support sales initiatives and ensure alignment between field operations and sales goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of management experience in plumbing, HVAC, or related service industries.
• Strong technical knowledge of plumbing and/or HVAC systems and operations.
• Proven track record of managing teams, budgets, and operational KPIs.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in scheduling, dispatch, and CRM software (e.g., ServiceTitan, DMER, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license; trade license a plus but not required.
