Plumbing Apprentice

SUMMARY:  The Entry-Level Plumbing Apprentice supports the installation and assembly of plumbing systems in a construction and job-site environment.  This position is ideal for individuals looking to start or continue a career in plumbing and offers hands-on training under experienced plumbers and supervisors. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

• Plumbing experience is preferred but is not required


• Ability to use basic hand tools to cut, assemble, and connect plumbing materials


• Willingness to learn and advance in the plumbing industry


• Ability to take direction, ask questions, and learn the plumbing trade


• Attention to detail and quality workmanship is a must


• Willingness to participate in training programs to pursue a Journeyman license


• Learn to read and interpret shop drawings and specifications


• Look over the website TSBPE.texas.gov as it will be part of your future

TEAMWORK:

• Demonstrates and promotes a spirit of cooperation and teamwork throughout the company


• Works collaboratively with supervisors and fellow team members


• Continually looks for ways to improve processes, efficiency, and personal performance

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

• Performs all duties with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction


• Supports Company efforts to meet production schedules and customer requirements


• Communicates professionally with supervisors and team members to resolve issues

SAFETY:

• Follows all Company safety programs and policies


• Uses required PPE at all times when appropriate


• Reports unsafe conditions, accidents, or injuries to the Supervisor or Safety Manager immediately


• Completes all assigned safety training within required timeframes

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or GED


• Willingness to learn plumbing concepts and processes


• Basic math and measuring skills


• Ability to use hand tools safely


• Strong work ethic and reliability


• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and stand for extended periods
