Colorado Mechanical Systems, Inc. (CMS) is privately owned and operated in Centennial, Colorado. CMS provides commercial heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and plumbing services across the Colorado Front Range, including Pueblo, Colorado Springs, Denver, Boulder and Fort Collins.

Perform entry level general Plumbing duties as required with supervision.

\n

Progress through the trade 1-4+ year

\n

\n

Essential Job Functions

\n

APPRENTICE 1 (1 Year):

\n

\n
* Develop good working and safety habits.
\n
* Understands terminology and the use of power and hand tools.
\n
* Required to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 1.
\n
* Has basic math skills.
\n
* Attentive to instructions and assists the journeyman in all phases of work.
\n
* Can document approximately 2,000 hours of employment.
\n
* Perform laborer tasks including sweeping, cleaning, delivering, loading and unloading, etc.
\n
* Regular and predictable attendance is expected in order to meet the requirements of this position
\n
* Other duties as assigned
\n

\n

APPRENTICE 2 (1-2 years):

\n

\n
* Read non-complex blueprints and detail drawings.
\n
* Required to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 2.
\n
* Has an understanding of simple plumbing systems.
\n
* Preparation of piping and fixtures before installing
\n
* Help install equipment.
\n
* Document approximately 4,000 hours of employment.
\n
* Other duties as assigned
\n

APPRENTICE 3 (2-3 years):

\n

\n
* Understands and is able to read architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing plans and their details.
\n
* Assist in lay-out for digging, core drilling, sleeving, etc.
\n
* Check grade in trenches while digging, tunneling, etc.
\n
* Can lay out and install small jobs with supervision.
\n
* Required to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 3
\n
* Can document approximately 6,000 hours of employment.
\n
* Other duties as assigned

APPRENTICE 4 (3-4 Years):

\n

\n
* Application for certification at local jurisdiction as required, ie. State of CO.
\n
* Know heating and cooling design and complete all jobs per Colorado Mechanical Systems standards.
\n
* Required to obtain the mandatory tools for Level 4
\n
* Can complete all jobs successfully in terms of labor and material budgets.
\n
* Have a good understanding of plumbing systems and how they operate.
\n
* Can document 8,000 hrs of employment.
\n
* Support the total quality effort. Identify and respond to the needs of internal and external customers 100% of the time.
\n
* Work within the guidelines of the safety and employee policy.
\n
* Other duties as assigned.
\n

Qualifications:

\n
* Minimum 18 years of age
\n
* High school graduate/GED
\n
* Ability to communicate well
\n
* Mechanical aptitude
\n
* Willingness to learn through on the job training and technical school courses
\n
* Reliable transportation to and from work required
\n

\n

\n

Pay/Benefits:

\n

Pay is $20.00/hr - $35.00/hr. depending on skill and experience. Benefits offered (Health, vision, dental, 401k with company match.)
