Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Plumbing Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for plumbing commercial projects. This role offers top-tier compensation to attract skilled professionals with expertise in plumbing systems, cost analysis, and project bidding.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for plumbing and gas systems.
Calculate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs to develop comprehensive bid proposals.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project requirements and ensure accurate estimates.
Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
Prepare and present detailed bid proposals, including scope of work, cost breakdowns, and timelines.
Identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options without compromising quality.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of plumbing codes, regulations, and industry standards.
Track and update estimating databases with current pricing and project data.
Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews as needed.
Ensure all estimates align with project budgets and client expectations.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Plumbing Estimator or in a similar role within the plumbing or construction industry.
Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, gas, and HVAC-related plumbing.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
Excellent mathematical and analytical skills for precise cost calculations.
Strong communication and negotiation skills for working with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Familiarity with local and national plumbing codes and regulations.
Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
Preferred: Certifications such as Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or similar.
Physical Requirements
Ability to visit job sites as needed, which may involve walking, climbing, or working in various conditions.
Comfortable working in an office environment with extended periods of computer use.
