Plumbing Standards and Training Lead: Set the Standard, Train the Field, and Make It Stick
Lexington, South Carolina
Plumbing Solutions, LLC is a fast-growing, family-owned company with a strong commitment to excellence, our employees, and the customers we serve. We are hiring a Plumbing Standards and Training Lead to define how plumbing is installed, train our field crews to do it that way, and hold the line so it sticks.
This is a field-driven, hands-on technical role for a plumber who has done the work, can teach it, and will enforce it. You will build our installation standards into a documented library and train our people to execute them on every job, at every branch.
This role gets plumbing knowledge out of individual heads and into the company standard, so the company owns the standard, not one person.
Does This Sound Like You?
• You know plumbing installation at a deep level, new construction especially
• You have done the work yourself, and strong installers respect you for it
• You can teach hands-on, not just talk. You show people, then verify they can do it
• You hold the line. You are comfortable stopping work, correcting it, and following through until it is fixed
• You can put what you know on paper, so the standard lives in the company, not just in your memory
• You want to build standards and training that actually get used in the field
The Experience We'd Love To See:
• 8 to 15 plus years of plumbing experience (new construction required)
• Deep knowledge of installation methods across slab, sewer, rough-in, trim, service, and warranty
• Proven ability to enforce standards and hold crews accountable in the field
• Experience training or coaching field crews hands-on
• Experience building standards, SOPs, or training that was actually put to use, not just proposed
• Ability to document methods clearly in writing
• Plumbing License, or willingness to obtain
• Strong presence and credibility with field teams
What You'll Get To Do:
Define the Standard
• Build and document installation methods across slab, sewer, rough-in, trim, service, and warranty
• Write clear, field-usable standards that installers can actually follow
• Ensure standards meet IPC, IBC, and company requirements
• Get the standard out of people's heads and into the company library
Train the Field Hands-On
• Deliver hands-on technical training to installers and crews
• Show correct method, then verify crews can perform to it
• Run training programs on our existing in-house staff to raise their level
Enforce and Hold the Line
• Check work against the standard in the field
• Stop work and require correction when the standard is not met
• Make sure no incorrect work reaches cover-up
• Hold crews and Quality Inspectors accountable, directly and in real time
Partner with the Training Systems Manager
• Hand finished standards and content to the Training Systems Manager to build into the system
• Keep training aligned with the current standard and real field execution
• Serve as the technical expert behind the training
Why You Want This Job:
• You will define how plumbing is installed and train the people who do it
• You will have the authority to stop work and require it be done right
• You will directly reduce defects, callbacks, and rework
• You will build something that lasts: standards and training the company owns
• You will be part of a fast-growing company with room to grow into higher leadership
This Position Offers:
• A fast-growing industry with a rapidly expanding company
• Family friendly atmosphere
• Monday to Friday work week with weekly pay
• Health, prescription drug, vision, and dental insurance available
• Short and long-term disability as well as life insurance available
• Matching 401(k) with profit bonus opportunities and potential yearly holiday bonus
