Job Title: Packaging Operator

Reports to: Packaging Manager

Location: San Leandro, California

SCHEDULE: Tuesday - Friday/ 2:00PM - 12:30AM

21st Amendment Brewery is now accepting applications for the job of Packaging Operator at our San Leandro production brewery. We are seeking motivated, multi-talented, experienced candidates that are looking to work in a fast-paced environment and are ready to be part of an evolving packaging team. 

Position Purpose:

Reporting to the Packaging Manager, the pack operator is responsible for the operation, change over and cleaning of 21A’s high speed can and keg line. Producing high quality packaging in our San Leandro facility.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for, but not limited to, the operation of our 40 head can filler, lid feeder, pasteurizer, palletizer, depalletizer, as well as, our keg filling machine, hand-packing variety packs.
  • Focus on run time efficiencies and quality finished goods
  • Identifying necessary equipment repairs and conveying maintenance needs to the maintenance manager in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate records of packaging runs and materials
  • Weekly cleaning and sanitation of all canning, racking equipment.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

The pack operator position requires candidates that are flexible, have a sense of urgency, and can prioritize quickly, based on packaging needs. This is a great opportunity for candidates who are seeking job variety and have the desire to help innovate and improve on the efficacy of our high speed packaging line; all while working within a fun, safe and productive environment.

  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills within a fast-paced work environment.
  • Computer skills, word, excel, outlook.
  • Flexible schedule: ability to work overtime and weekend shifts as needed.
  • Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice).
  • HS/GED with at least 1-year of experience
  • Valid California Driver’s License is required.

The following skills are considered a plus:

  • Prior knowledge of commercial brewing and packaging processes
  • Prior experience in similar packaging Industries as a machine operator
  • Prior industrial forklift experience.
  • Experience with ERP systems. 
  • Knowledge of 5S practices (sort, straighten, shine, standardize and sustain).
  • Beverage Gas Specs (OO, Co2), seam checks
