We are currently seeking individuals interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement as Police Officer Trainees. Candidates recruited through KENTECH will receive guidance throughout the application process and support in meeting the hiring requirements of our partner agencies. Position Overview
As a Police Officer Trainee, you will enter a structured training program at a partner police academy, leading to Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification. You will develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to perform the duties of a sworn police officer, including crime prevention, law enforcement, community engagement, and public safety operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully complete the police academy training program and meet state certification requirements.
- Participate in field training under the supervision of an experienced training officer.
- Learn and apply laws, ordinances, and police procedures to protect life and property.
- Engage with community members to build trust, promote safety, and reduce crime.
- Prepare reports, maintain accurate records, and testify in court when necessary.
- Operate police equipment, technology systems, and vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
- Collaborate with other officers, agencies, and community stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least 20 years of age.
- U.S. Citizen with a valid driver’s license (NC or SC, or ability to obtain).
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses.
- No DWI/DUI convictions in the last 5 years.
- Ability to pass a written exam, physical ability test, background investigation, and drug screening.
- Meet vision, hearing, and other physical requirements established by state standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Honorable military service (if applicable).
- Previous community service, volunteer, or public safety experience.
