Police Records Clerk - Afternoons

The Village of Carol Stream seeks a motivated and detail-oriented office professional with an interest in public service, to join our dedicated Police Records team.  This full-time, service-focused role will provide customer assistance, answer non-emergency calls, maintain records and perform various other administrative tasks in support of our 24-hour police operation. 

Qualified individuals must possess the following:

• High School Degree or Equivalent


• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word


• Superior Communication and Organizational Skills


• Ability to Multi-Task and Work Independently


• Able to Discreetly Handle Confidential Matters


• Possession of a valid Illinois Driver’s License

Carol Stream Police Records Clerks utilize several electronic programs including MS office and the LEADS database. Previous work in law enforcement/public safety a plus, but not required.

The primary hours are 3:00pm – 11:00pm Sunday thru Thursday; however, the successful candidate must be available to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays.   

Starting salary for this position is $26.66 per hour (firm) with an excellent benefit package including health (80% employer paid), dental, and life insurance, as well as IMRF pension system; commitment to professional development; and a collaborative team environment.
