Policy Specialist (Hybrid)

Excess Reinsurance, a market leader in the self-funded medical insurance market, has a full- time position in its busy policy administration department. Policy Specialists process applications, policy changes, and issue policies in compliance with carrier guidelines. The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and have the ability to perform repetitive routine tasks with accuracy and consistency.

The successful candidate must have strong organizational skills, an eye for detail, and the ability to perform repetitive routine tasks with accuracy and consistency.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepares applications and issues stop loss policies as directed by the underwriter and in complete compliance with the issuing carriers’ and state guidelines.


• Handle customer inquiries and service issues professionally and within company-established standards.


• Maintains electronic files with proper documentation.


• Initiates and maintains producer licensing and appointments.

Education and/or Experience:

• Proficient in Microsoft Office


• Detail orientated


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


• Bachelor’s degree or business experience


• Insurance background a plus

The base salary range for this position is $40,000 to $45,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
