Polysomnographer - Travel Position
Location: Alamogordo, NM
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s Days
Pay: $2072/week
Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Polysomnographer to perform overnight sleep studies and support the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. The Polysomnographer will set up and monitor sleep testing equipment, observe patients during studies, and collect accurate data for physician interpretation. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and experienced in providing compassionate care in a sleep lab environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare patients and equipment for overnight or daytime sleep studies.
Perform polysomnographic recordings, including EEG, EOG, EMG, ECG, airflow, and oxygen saturation.
Monitor and document patient sleep patterns, behaviors, and events.
Identify and respond to abnormal sleep or respiratory events.
Maintain equipment, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure data accuracy.
Educate patients on sleep study procedures and promote comfort throughout testing.
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited Polysomnography or Sleep Technology program
Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) credential
Active NM license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, COVID vaccine, recent TB test
Minimum 1-year experience in sleep studies or respiratory care
