Description

  

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· Cleans and keeps in an orderly condition any common areas including locker room and break room.

· Clean and sanitize Conveyors, Filling Equipment, Floors, Walls, Garbage Containers and Cleaning Equipment. 

· Monitor, clean and service washrooms.

· Respond to any major spills or other cleaning crises.

· Segregate and remove recyclables (cardboard, metals, etc.) and remove trash.

· Complete equipment cleaning procedures as directed in the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).

· Monitor and clean grounds as directed in the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS).

· Keeps Sanitation/Cleaning areas clean at all times.

· Understand and use a variety of Sanitation Chemicals to effectively complete assigned tasks.

· Ensure all paperwork is filled out in a clean, legible and accurate format, and completed with required information. 

· Follow Good Manufacturing Practices.

· Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal codes and regulations. 

· Follow all required work safe practices. This would include wearing of all required PPE in designated areas, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, fall restraints, etc.

  

· Support SQF program by maintaining food safety and food quality through job tasks in relation to GMPs, HACCP, sanitation, etc. 

· Report any food safety and food quality related issues to management immediately. 

· Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

· Work overtime as assigned.

· Ability to work cooperatively with others.

· Comply with all company policies and procedures.


Requirements

  

The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

· High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

· Sanitation experience preferred, but not required.

· Ability to handle hazardous chemicals is required.

· Understanding of HACCP, PMO and basic sanitation practices is preferred.

· Knowledge of food safety and GMP practices is preferred. 

· Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

· Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel and climb for 5-60 minute intervals, depending on the activity, repeatedly throughout the shift. . 

· Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, including overhead.

· Ability to work in a cold/wet environment between 30-45 degrees F.

· Ability to legibly write entries for record keeping. 

· Must have the ability to handle and follow through on multiple projects.

· Strong teamwork skills with a willingness to assist others.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 

· Ability to work all assigned work schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays, and comply with all time and attendance policies.

· Ability to work overtime when required.
