Job Overview

Bigge Crane and Rigging Co., a leader in the heavy equipment rental and construction industry, is seeking a dedicated and proactive Porter to support our facilities operations. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment across our yards, warehouses, and operational sites. This position is perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, physically active work environments and take pride in keeping equipment and workspaces running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general janitorial and sanitation duties across shop floors, common areas, offices, break rooms, and restrooms.


• Ensure all designated areas (indoor and outdoor) are clean, organized, and free from debris or safety hazards.


• Maintain walkways, parking lots, and storage areas—includes sweeping, snow/ice removal, and pressure washing.


• Assist with landscaping and grounds upkeep such as mowing, trimming, and weeding.
  


• Assist the team by cleaning work areas and disposing of materials safely.


• Check and restock consumables such as rags, oil-absorbent pads, and cleaning supplies.


• Move tools, supplies, and equipment between shop areas and storage locations.


• Help organize and maintain material stock areas.


• Follow company safety standards and OSHA regulations at all times.


• Report unsafe conditions, spills, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors promptly.

Requirements:

•  High school diploma or GED


• Preferred previous experience in a construction yard or heavy equipment facility


• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions


• Basic knowledge of hand tools and janitorial equipment


• Preferred forklift certification or willingness to obtain


• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation


• Strong work ethic and self-motivation
