Porter

Overview:

iGo Motors is seeking a dependable, mechanically inclined Porter to support our reconditioning operations. This role is far more than just moving cars—you’ll be a key player in our Final Quality Control (FQC) process, helping ensure that every vehicle meets our standards before heading to the lot. You’ll also assist with parts retrieval, light facility maintenance, and general shop support.

Primary Responsibilities:

Final Quality Control (FQC) Driving & Vehicle Movement

• Drive reconditioned vehicles to assess overall readiness for sale
• Report mechanical concerns, odd sounds, driveability issues, or warning lights
• Organize vehicles within the lot and stage them for detailing, transport, or technician inspection
• Accurately tag and track vehicle status throughout the reconditioning process

Parts Retrieval & Shop Support

• Retrieve parts from the on-site junkyard or parts storage as requested by technicians
• Properly label and deliver parts to the appropriate bay or team member
• Assist techs with moving tools, equipment, or vehicle components as needed

Facility Upkeep & Organization

• Keep the shop floor clean and orderly (sweeping, mopping, trash disposal, etc.)
• Maintain fluid stations, cleanup areas, and general supply organization
• Dispose of hazardous materials appropriately, following safety protocols

Inventory & Auditing

• Assist with inventory checks on parts and vehicle locations
• Conduct lot audits and report discrepancies to supervisors

General Duties

• Be a team player, ready to jump in where needed across departments
• Help set up workspaces for technicians and assist in prepping cars for the sales lot

Skills & Qualifications:

• Mechanically Inclined: Able to identify common mechanical issues during FQC test drives
• Basic Automotive Knowledge: Familiarity with vehicle components, noises, and drive functions
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
• Physical Stamina: Capable of lifting heavy parts and standing/walking for extended periods
• Detail-Oriented: Notices small issues before they become big problems
• Adaptable & Dependable: Willing to handle various responsibilities with urgency and care
• Team-Oriented: Collaborates well with techs, managers, and detailers
