Position Purpose
The Porter supports residents and care staff through non-clinical assistance. This position helps to enhance the overall resident experience while maintaining dignity and respect, assisting each resident to be as independent and self-sufficient as possible.
Qualifications
Must be able to read, write and carry out directions in English
Minimum of 16 years of age
Must be able to pass the state mandated criminal background screening and pre-employment drug screening for illegal substances
Essential Functions
Deliver items such as meals, mail, water, linens, and packages
Escort residents to meals and activities
Assist with dining service (set up, beverages, clearing tables)
Provide companionship and one-on-one visits as directed
Complete light housekeeping (beds, linens, trash, laundry support)
Observe and report changes in residents’ condition to supervisor
Assist residents with meals and life enrichment activities as needed
Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist residents in all aspects of personal care.
Handle emotional and physical demands of caregiving
