POSITION SUMMARY:

The Republic of Tea is looking for a Porter to help keep our warehouse and facility clean, safe, organized, and ready for daily operations. In this role, you’ll support our team by maintaining clean and sanitary work areas while following SQF, GMP, food safety, and company sanitation standards. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in keeping things clean and orderly, pays attention to detail, and understands the importance of maintaining a safe and high-quality food production environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure all duties are performed in accordance with food safety, quality assurance, GMP, and company sanitation policies and procedures.


• Sweep, mop, and scrub warehouse and facility floors.


• Dust and clean pallet storage locations.


• Remove dust and debris from elevated locations using a scissor lift.


• Collect and dispose of trash, garbage, and other waste inside and outside of the facility.


• Support facility organization by maintaining clean and orderly warehouse spaces.


• Set up, arrange, and remove tables and chairs for employee meetings, events, and activities.


• Follow the master sanitation schedule to ensure cleaning tasks are completed on time.

Perform other duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.


• Minimum of two years of janitorial, sanitation, or institutional housekeeping experience.


• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.


• Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors for extended periods during an 8-hour shift.


• Ability to safely operate equipment including a scissor lift, pallet jack, and cardboard baler in accordance with OSHA training requirements.


• Experience using general cleaning chemicals and sanitation equipment.


• Familiarity with GMPs, food safety procedures, and regulatory standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous experience in a food manufacturing or warehouse environment.


• Experience working within SQF or other food safety certification programs.
