Porter / automotive shop assistant

Job Overview: The Automotive Porter plays a vital role in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the dealership lot, ensuring an optimal experience for both customers and staff. This position involves handling various tasks related to vehicle management, lot maintenance, and providing support to different departments within the dealership.

Key Responsibilities:

1. 
   Vehicle Preparation: Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for display or delivery.


2. 
   Lot Organization: Arrange vehicles in an organized and visually appealing manner, maximizing space and accessibility.


3. 
   Customer Service: Assist customers by directing them to appropriate departments and providing basic information about vehicle locations and features.


4. 
   Vehicle Movement: Safely drive and park vehicles within the dealership lot, showroom, and service area.


5. 
   Detailing: Perform basic detailing tasks, such as washing and vacuuming vehicles, to maintain their appearance.


6. 
   Inspections: Conduct routine inspections of vehicles for damage or issues, reporting findings to the appropriate departments.


7. 
   Collaboration with Sales Team: Work closely with the sales team to ensure vehicles are ready for test drives and meet customer expectations.


8. 
   Maintenance Assistance: Support the service department by moving vehicles to and from the service area and providing assistance as needed.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.


2. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.


3. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.


4. Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles.


5. Strong organizational and time-management skills.


6. Excellent communication and customer service skills.


7. Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
