Job Description - Post Closer

Role Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Post Closer to join our team as a full-time on-site role for a Post Closer at our Virginia Beach location. The Post Closer will be responsible for completing post-closing tasks such as assembling final loan packages, preparation of final title policies, and disbursing funds in accordance with instructions. The role may include collaborating with internal teams and external parties, handling customer service support, and performing other tasks as assigned. The purpose of the Post Closer is to ensure that closing packages are completed with no errors and all the lender’s requirements are met. The Post Closer has the last opportunity to fix any errors before the documents are recorded and the loan package is shipped back to the lender. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Quality Control 

  • Review loan documents post-closing to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Review closing packages to ensure all signatures, dates, and notarizations are executed.
  • Review Title to confirm the accuracy of the executed documents to include verification of the parties needing to sign as well as confirm the legal description matches what chain of title shows, what the city has on record, etc.
  • Obtain corrections/revisions from the appropriate party on documents which contained errors. 
  • Provide the lender with the documents that they require to obtain funding approval.

Shipping 

  • Organize the closing documents and include any additional documents from the file to be sent back to the lender.
  • Confirm the shipping address to which these documents need to be sent.
  • Prepare the UPS overnight label for the documents, save the tracking information in the given file and ensure the finalized package gets to the UPS/FedEx pick up box to be shipped.

Correspondence

  • Respond to agents, lenders, borrowers or sellers (all clients) with any information requested.
  • Ensure clients receive timely answers or documents that they have requested while providing exceptional customer service.

General

  • Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills
  • Knowledge of Escrow and Loan processing
  • Ability to work independently and with a team
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Experience working in a post-closing or escrow-related role is a plus
  • Familiarity with SoftPro software or similar mortgage and title software is preferred

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in business or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in mortgage loan processing, closing, or post-closing preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage loan documents and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and loan origination software (LOS).
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Schedule:

  • Core business hours are 8:30am-5:30pm
  • Monday through Friday

Work Location:

  • This is an in-office at our Austin, TX. No current remote option.
