Job Details:

Purpose

Dr. Qin Huang's Lab in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking an experienced researcher to perform research on advanced power electronics, as well as to perform supporting work in maintaining the laboratory equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out research on GaN and SiC power converters

• Help maintain the laboratory equipment and order supplies

• Mentoring graduate students with research group

• Other related functions as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a related field within the past 3 years

• Experience in power electronics hardware

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Able to work independently and as a team member

Salary Range

$75,568

Working Conditions

• May work around standard office conditions

• May work around electrical and mechanical hazards

• Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation

Retirement Plan Eligibility:

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
