POSITION SPECIFICS
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral scholar position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State under the direction of Dr. Guhaprasanna Manogharan. We are looking for talented, ambitious, and hard-working candidates.
Develop digital twin prediction models for defects in metal additive manufacturing - coding and documentation
Perform analysis on CT scan of metal AM specimens
Prepare draft reports/slides for program reporting
Participate in weekly and monthly meetings with the DARPA team (external)
Participate in weekly individual and group meetings (internal)
Participate in professional development activities
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
Applicants are required to have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in an appropriate field and be able to provide evidence that all requirements have been met for completion of the Ph.D. prior to the effective date of hire
Experience in metal LPBF and in-situ monitoring
Experience in Python programming and ML methods
