Job Description - Power Engineer

⚡ We’re looking for a Power Engineer to join our team in McAllen, TX!



As a Power Engineer at MDC, you will design, implement, and optimize the power systems that keep our data center operations running reliably and safely. From schematics to safety protocols, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring continuous service for our clients.

What would you be doing?



  • Develop and implement electrical power distribution systems for data center operations.

  • Design electrical schematics, layouts, and plans using industry-standard software.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal electrical codes and standards.

  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.

  • Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuity of operations.

  • Implement preventive maintenance programs and schedules.

  • Oversee electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

  • Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.

  • Prepare project documentation, including specifications, reports, and manuals.

  • Monitor power usage, capacity, and efficiency of electrical systems.

  • Analyze data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

  • Recommend and implement energy-saving measures and technologies.

  • Ensure all electrical work adheres to safety regulations and best practices.

  • Conduct safety training for staff and contractors as necessary.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and advancements in electrical engineering.




Qualifications


Education:



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related area.



Work experience



  • 24 months of experience in position(s) with similar job duties in a data center critical infrastructure environment.



Work arrangement



  • Onsite: McAllen, TX.
