Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman Space Systems is currently recruiting for an Power Systems Engineer 2/3 to join our team at our Bacchus facility, located in Magna, Utah.\n\nJob Summary including Duties and Responsibilities:\n\n * Work as part of a multi-disciplined project team\n\n * Comprehensive power system design, control systems, and machine safety experience.\n\n * Ability to manage large complex projects with skills in power, control and electrical industrial automation.\n\n * Design power and control systems for industrial process equipment used in the manufacturing of solid propulsion rocket motors, manufacturing facilities and manufacturing equipment.\n\n * Develop control philosophies and P\u0026ID\u2019s.\n\n * Design electrical control systems using Allen-Bradley PLC\u2019s and Schneider SmartX controllers.\n\n * Have a working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) used to control a variety of equipment, processes, machine tools, and robotics, including Allen Bradley PLC\u2019s and Rockwell Software.\n\n * Design low \u0026 medium voltage power distribution systems; specify power distribution equipment, transformers and switch gear; MCC\u2019s, power distribution panels, high resistance grounds, UPS\u2019s and back-up generators.\n\n * Develop the following types of electrical drawings: P\u0026ID\u2019s, one-line diagrams, schematics, panel arrangements, bill of materials, device layouts, power distribution, control distribution, loop diagrams, panel schedules, conduit layouts and grounding plans.\n\n * Design, specify, and program servo drives \u0026 variable frequency drives (VFD) for all types of motor control applications.\n\n * Design the following other types of support systems: Fire detection and reporting systems, camera \u0026 audio surveillance systems, lightning \u0026 grounding protection systems, ethernet \u0026 fiber communications systems.\n\n * Oversee installation and startup of newly designed systems with both internal craft \u0026 outside contractors.\n\n * Oversee an electrical project from conception to completion.\n\n * The ability to develop drawing packages using AutoCAD.\n\n * Provide detailed cost estimates for project design and implementation.\n\n * Develop electrical maintenance guidelines for industrial equipment.\n\n * Work with maintenance craftsmen to troubleshoot issues.\n\n * Project management with supervision over all aspects of a project including mechanical, civil, and other crafts overseeing budget and schedule.\n\n\n\n\nAs a full-time employee of Northrop Grumman Space Systems, you are eligible for our robust benefits package, including:\n\n\u00b7 Medical, Dental \u0026 Vision coverage\n\n\u00b7 401k\n\n\u00b7 Educational Assistance\n\n\u00b7 Life Insurance\n\n\u00b7 Employee Assistance Programs \u0026 Work/Life Solutions\n\n\u00b7 Paid Time Off\n\n\u00b7 Health \u0026 Wellness Resources\n\n\u00b7 Employee Discounts\n\n \nThis position standard work schedule is a 9/80 or 4/10. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. The 4/10 schedule allows employees to work a ten-hour day Monday through Thursday.\n\nBasic Qualifications:\n\nLevel 2\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in a STEM field and 2 years of industrial facility or mechanical design experience\n\n\n\nOR 0 years with Masters\n\n * Industrial process equipment and facility design\n * Experience designing low- and medium-voltage power systems\n * Working knowledge of PLCs (including Allen-Bradley and Rockwell software)\n * Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.\n * Ability to work in field environments, including climbing ladders, working outdoors, and in confined or congested spaces\n\n\n\nLevel 3\n\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in STEM\n * 5 years or 3 years with Master\u0027s industrial facility mechanical design experience\n * Industrial process equipment and facility design\n * Experience designing low- and medium-voltage power systems\n * Working knowledge of PLCs (including Allen-Bradley and Rockwell software)\n * Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.\n * Ability to work in field environments, including climbing ladders, working outdoors, and in confined or congested spaces\n\n\n\nPreferred Requirements: \n\n * BS in Electrical Engineering\n\n * Power system design experience\n\n * Industrial control design experience\n\n * Excellent communication skills.\n\n * AutoCAD drafting ability\n\n * PLC systems and programming experience\n\n\n\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
