Job Description

SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE : Do you have a passion for transforming complex data into clear and actionable insights? Are you an expert in Power BI with a knack for crafting compelling visualizations? If so, we want you on our team! We are seeking a highly skilled Power BI Developer with 3+ years of experience to join our growing team. You will be responsible for the design, development, and deployment of insightful reports and dashboards that empower business users to make data-driven decisions.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Data Visualization Creation:
Design and develop interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to diverse business needs.
Leverage your deep understanding of different visualization techniques to effectively communicate insights in a clear and user-friendly way.
Stay up to date on the latest Power BI features and best practices to continuously improve report design.
Semantic Model Expert:
Create and maintain robust semantic models that ensure data consistency and accuracy across reports.
Collaborate with data analysts and data engineers to understand data structures and build efficient data models for optimal performance.
Data Warehousing:
Possess a working knowledge of standard Data Warehousing principles, including star schema design and dimensional modeling.
Partner with data warehousing teams to ensure seamless data integration and analysis within Power BI.
Power BI Service Champion:
Manage Power BI services, including setting up data gateways for secure data access.
Schedule report refreshes to maintain data accuracy and ensure timely insights for users.
Administer and maintain shared resources within the Power BI service environment.
Requirements Analysis:
Translate end-user requests and business requirements into well-defined wireframe/report mockups to facilitate development and ensure alignment with user needs.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to bridge the gap between data and actionable insights.

Required Skills/Abilities/Experience:

3+ years of experience working with Power BI.
Proven track record of designing and developing user-friendly and insightful Power BI reports and dashboards.
In-depth understanding of various visualization techniques and their effectiveness in different contexts.
Experience creating and maintaining semantic models for optimized data analysis.
Working knowledge of standard Data Warehousing principles.
Proficiency with Power BI Service functionalities, including gateway management, refresh scheduling, and resource administration.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills/Abilities/Experience:

Experience with DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for advanced data manipulation within Power BI.
Familiarity with other data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau).
Experience with data governance practices within Power BI.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent work experience
