Wellness Equity Alliance (WEA) is a novel national public health organization comprised of a multidisciplinary team of population and public health experts with backgrounds in infectious disease, public health, emergency medicine, primary care, cardiology, pediatrics, psychiatry, community health work (CHW), nursing and advanced practice pharmacy. We work nearly exclusively with underrepresented communities, fundamentally addressing health-care disparities and the social determinants of health (SDoH) that have been amplified during the COVID-19 pandemic, prioritizing the following:
The WEA team is diverse, inclusive, and nimble enough to assemble teams of healthcare professionals within days using our proven local staff recruitment models to address population health crises and communicable disease outbreaks. The WEA team’s partnership model is collaborative and allows hospitals, health jurisdictions, state/local government agencies to provide timely care using equity-based strategies for individuals and marginalized communities.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose of the position
The Healthcare Practice Manager will lead day-to-day operations and performance across clinical and mobile healthcare programs in San Diego County, with a primary focus on supporting street medicine services serving vulnerable populations.
This role oversees operational implementation of grant-funded and contracted healthcare programs, ensuring services are delivered in alignment with program objectives, regulatory requirements, and community needs. The Practice Manager will play a key leadership role in launching and managing street medicine services that deliver care directly in community settings, including encampments, shelters, and other locations where individuals experiencing homelessness reside.
The ideal candidate is a dynamic, mission-aligned operations professional with experience managing complex healthcare programs, strong regulatory knowledge, and a passion for improving access to care for underserved communities.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with leadership, clinicians, outreach teams, and community partners to ensure operational excellence, maintain compliance with grant and contract requirements, support staff development, and strengthen partnerships with public health and community organizations.
