Employment Type: Full-Time (School Year: September-June)

Salary Range: $45,000-$55,000, based on experience and qualifications

Bonuses: Sign-On Bonus & End-of-Year Bonus Available

Reports To: Program Director

Position Overview

Nessa's Small Steps Child Care is seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Pre-K Counts
Teacher to join our team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate is committed to
providing a high-quality early childhood education experience in alignment with Pennsylvania's

Pre-K Counts program standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate lessons using the Creative Curriculum
- Conduct assessments and observations using Teaching Strategies GOLD
- Promote a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment
- Support children's development across all learning domains
- Build strong, respectful partnerships with families and staff
- Supervise assistant teachers and ensure compliance with all state and program guidelines
- Participate in ongoing professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- PA Instructional I or II Certificate in Early Childhood (PreK-4 or N-3)
- 2+ years experience in an early childhood classroom- Up-to-date clearances: Child Abuse, Criminal Background, FBI Fingerprinting, NSOR
- Physical exam and TB test required
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Teaching Strategies GOLD and Creative Curriculum
- Knowledge of Keystone STARS and Pre-K Counts requirements
- CPR and First Aid certified (or willing to obtain within 60 days)
