We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for our Ambulatory Surgery Center in Austin, TX. Our nurses play a critical role in taking care of our patients from pre-operative and post-anesthesia care.
Our nurses do not work on evenings, weekends, holidays, or on-call!
Responsibilities
· Provide comfort and reassurance to patients and support the patients’ right to privacy, dignity, and confidentiality.
· Confirm that proper techniques and procedures are used according to accepted standards of practice.
· Perform thorough pre-operative patient assessment required in the outpatient setting.
· Perform safe and individualized nursing care for the patient in the immediate post-operative/post-anesthesia period.
· Perform thorough post-operative patient assessment prior to discharge of the patient.
· Perform discharge education to patient and care giver.
· Provide nursing care to meet patient needs related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered.
· Documenting all aspects of patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical records system.
· Assists in managing inventory of supplies, drugs, and equipment to maintain availability and stock levels in the postoperative area.
· Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission, values, and strategies of CPIhealth.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in perioperative nursing, including pre-operative, and post-operative care preferred but will
train.
• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in the State of Texas.
• Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
• Valid BLS certification.
• Valid ACLS or Obtain within the first 90 days of employment.
• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia, and perioperative nursing protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide compassionate care to patients and their
families.
• Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems and other medical software.
