Pre Vocational Supervisor

The Arc Madison Cortland is seeking a motivated leader to assist the Director in the day to day operations in the Pre Vocational Program.

SUMMARY: Assist the assigned Director in all areas of the day-to-day operations of the program. Monitors the quality services for the program. Assists developmental disabled individuals with learning pre vocational skills. Trains and orients all new staff to the department. Oversees a team of Direct Support Professionals in the Pre Vocational program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Maintains and carries out responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional, as needed.
• Acts as a role model for staff.
• Maintains departments quality of service.
• Maintains communication and follows through with Program Director’s instructions.
• Directly monitors interactions between Direct Support Professionals and individuals supported in assigned programs.
• Assists in the training of all staff including training regarding individual specific information and their needs according to the individual’s Life Plan.
• Provides oversight and direction to all staff regarding day to day operations and communicating those changes to the Director.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and or experience; valid New York State Driver's License with 12 months driving history.
