Precious Trader

Position Summary:

Tremendous opportunity available for experienced Precious Metals Trader.  Int'l respected Commodities Trading firm with global presence head quartered in Stamford CT. seeks a skilled and self-directed Trader with five plus years experience concentrating on managing positions within established limits and converting them into additional revenues for the Company. This will focus on all trade related activities including: analyze trading opportunities; gather market intelligence, negotiations, and creating revenue growth.

Responsibilities: 

• Creating trading strategy, day/ month/ year market forecast, making daily trade entries and verifying daily trade activity, positions, P&L interaction, and analysis of risk and exposure.


• Managing discrepancies with the Back-Office to ensure proper reporting of trading activity, settlements, distribution and trading strategy outcome.


• Maintaining, expanding and controlling the relationships with our prime and clearing brokers to ensure proper reporting and settlement of trades.


• Manage market and credit risks associated with positions.


• Canvass brokers for best possible trade execution.


• Monitor and communicate market levels.


• Research opportunities.


• Develop new contacts in market and expand strategic scope of the area.


• Capitalize on appropriate revenue opportunities.


• Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years related trading experience required.


• Thorough understanding of the financial markets, specifically, commodities.


• BS Degree in Finance or Economics. 


• Good knowledge and functionality of trading platforms and information services, i.e. Bloomberg.


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment.


• Strong willingness to learn a variety of products, markets, and systems.


• Must be a fast learner and willing to work hard.


• Having a positive work attitude, desire to seek additional responsibility, and ability to multi-task are requirements for this position.Work in a team, serving as backup to other traders to ensure proper coverage.
