Job Description - Preconstruction Administrator/Estimator

Housewrights is a premier residential design-build firm known for delivering high-quality new homes, additions, and remodels. We’re growing and looking for a Preconstruction Administrator / Estimator to play a key role in turning great design into successful construction projects.

This is a high-impact role at the center of our preconstruction process - ideal for someone who enjoys estimating, coordinating with subcontractors, and working closely with both clients and project teams.

What You’ll Do

Lead preconstruction coordination from design handoff through project kickoff
Perform quantity takeoffs and develop accurate project estimates
Solicit and level subcontractor bids
Build clear, client-facing proposals with defined scope, allowances, and pricing
Coordinate walkthroughs, permitting, and preconstruction schedules
Assemble contracts and manage project documentation
Partner with Project Managers to ensure a smooth handoff to construction
Support active projects with change order pricing and site visits

What We’re Looking For

Experience in estimating, preconstruction, or residential construction
Strong understanding of construction drawings and scopes
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Confident communicator with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
